Teachers Professional Development

Our staff are deeply committed to their own ongoing professional development, often using data and research to develop their practice. Benefiting from half a day dedicated to professional development each week, our teachers take the time to explore pedagogy, plan to implement new ideas, collaborate and reflect upon their practice.

HEALTH CENTRE

Medical Centre

Run efficiently and effectively by our nurse manager, along with our team of qualified professional registered nurses and receptionist, the GIS Medical Centre has a spacious waiting area, three in-patient beds, an isolation room for students with communicable diseases such as HFMD, measles and chickenpox and a well equipped treatment room to provide first aid assistance.

TRANSPORTATION

School Bus Service

An extensive school bus network connects GIS with all major neighbourhoods across Kuala Lumpur, enabling students to travel from all parts of the city to both the Main Campus and EYC. All bus services are provided by external operators and the fees are based on the distance from home to school. In addition to regular bus services, services also cater for students attending our CCA programme in school.

Our Facilities

JoyKids campus is located within The Club in Bandar Utama, a premium recreational facility with modern amenities.
Our school campus provides a stunning bright and modern environment with spacious playgrounds and sporting facilities appropriate for children. We strive to create a safe and nurturing environment to excite and inspire children to look forward to coming to school every day.

JoyKids encourages our children’s active participation in sports and recreational activities. A full range of facilities are available including swimming pools, dance studio, tennis courts, indoor and outdoor playgrounds, art studio, specialist rooms and multi-purpose performance hall. We provide a school environment where students can celebrate life in all its fullness.

Learning Technology

At JoyKids, we embrace technology as a tool to improve learning. Our faculty integrate it into the curriculum whenever it is feasible and constructive for their students’ educational needs.

Starting Term 1 of the 2019/2020 academic year our students will have access to school-wide wireless internet and multimedia studios. Other technology resources such as smart learning devices, digital cameras, and AI assistance devices will also be available to enhance student learning.

In addition, we support parent communication through a variety of information systems. This includes our school app called Seesaw, which is used for the purposes of ensuring our parents are up-to-date on upcoming events and have access to real-time information.

We believe that a truly holistic education encompasses every aspect of a child’s day — from the nutrition that fuels their body to the safe journey that brings them to our doors. Our premium student services are meticulously designed to provide parents with absolute peace of mind while fostering essential life skills, independence, and well-being in our students.

Meal Time at JoyKids

The school takes diet seriously – healthy food is provided for students with a choice of Western, Asian, and Vegetarian food to select from. School meals are advised for all children. Meal times are viewed as part of the education of our children and provide a setting for developing independence, responsibility and expanding social skills.

Our trained in-house chef prepares international style food on site using a variety of fresh ingredients. Our meal plans and food suppliers have been vetted by a nutritionist to ensure that our meals are high quality and well-balanced.

Transport Information

JoyKids International Preschool provides children with transportation to school using a registered bus service company. Each of our buses are monitored by an adult (other than the driver) during transport to ensure child safety. Children who take the bus to school must wear their seatbelt at all times during their route.

Bus routes are updated on an on-going basis to reflect the needs of our families. We currently service areas including Tropicana, Mutiara Damansara, Bandar Utama, Kota Damansara,Desa ParkCity, Sungai Buloh, Subang Jaya, Mont Kiara, Bukit Damansara, Damansara Utama, Bangsar, and Damansara Heights, etc. We will establish new bus routes service upon request and needs of our families.
